wind, fog.
the day started with a very good breakfast at the hostel and away on the trail.
Quite steep up and down into little haven which was a picture book village and out onto the cliffs, for a while there were sheltered parts from the wind even a small wooded section with carpet of bluebells. From the cliffs was limited view so i saw no ships.
At Millhaven first river crossing had nice wooden bridge and there was an old lime kiln.
St Brides was very nice with old church and a pumphouse to look round. at one point i did see a fox on the cliffs and had to stop and stare for a while when i noticed two Gannets fishing close to shore, they really are a spectacular sight. i was told there would be no services en route and so it was, at haven point i could buy a fluffy puffin but not a cup of tea. the bird watching boats to Skomer are canceled until the wind drops, there really are some spectacular looking rock structures out at sea eroded into all manner of shapes.
so as i turned the headland i met the wind full on and yes it was fierce, when i turned inland to find this hostel i came across a bird hide which provided shelter and a good view of swallows sweeping across a wet area for insects, waiting here for reception to open as another night out of the weather would be nice and hey the forecast is good for weekend.
